Newspaper people are the best. I spent 30 years on the ad side. Had I not been such a “late bloomer”, I would have gone to college and majored in journalism. I have had to settle for watching my dear editorial colleagues, always knowing it WAS and IS always about the News. I didn’t know you David, but I knew OF you. Through FB and your blog, I feel like I know you. You have a “cheer leader” on your side. You have my admiration as you move forward with what you do and you do it with a passion.

The Star has been my paper for 2 reasons. 1) I get to see pictures of friends. and 2) David Lassen sports columns.

Dave,

I worked with at the News Chronicle, I being in the composing dept. and you covering sports. My hours included Friday and Saturday evenings and I worked with you on your pages. Those were big sport nights.
When we moved to Ventura, I did not work with you, however, we did pass sometime in the newsroom or I saw you busy typing your story at your desk. I am so sorry the paper decided to let you go – their loss! I know we will not hear the last of David Lassen. I wish you all the best and it was indeed a pleasure working with you. Good Luck.
